Sport and Leisure
REAL Consulting are experienced in delivering wet and dry leisure facilities, both internal and external. This includes delivering new builds, refurbishment, and extension schemes. We recognise that sport and leisure schemes involve a diverse stakeholder group, often with competing priorities. With budgets fixed, we work closely with clients, stakeholders, and the design team from the outset to agree a shared set of value drivers. An agreed ‘common goal’ allows us to ensure success is delivered and value for money is achieved. We work closely with leisure consultants and architects at a feasibility stage, considering options to support the business case. Sports and leisure facilities are unique, their out-turn-costs dependent upon the functional mix of the project, i.e. wet areas are inherently costlier than dry areas. We carefully benchmark our projects to ensure that budget estimates are representative of the scheme that will be delivered. By showcasing similar past projects and explaining their relevant, we aim to drive cost certainty into all our projects from the outset.
Where external grants or funding is sought, we understand the requirements of Sport England and the LTA and other sporting bodies and can cost plan projects that meet their benchmarking aspirations.
REAL have proved to be excellent partners and their professionalism and pragmatism has really helped our project team, all of whom are from non-construction backgrounds, to understand the key decisions that need to be made along the way. Importantly, REAL have absolutely delivered on their key deliverables in the project and have worked seamlessly with our architects and leisure consultants to keep two complex municipal projects progressing exactly as planned.
